3 Day Daytona Itinerary
Day 1
BEACH + BOARDWALK
Start with a Daytona Beach morning on the sand, then explore the Daytona Beach Pier, Boardwalk, and Ocean Walk area. Stay for ocean views, entertainment, and dinner.
Day 2
DAYTONA SPEEDWAY
Tour Daytona International Speedway and learn why this city is known as the World Center of Racing. Spend the afternoon at ONE DAYTONA for restaurants, shops, and entertainment.
Day 3
PONCE
INLET
Head south to Ponce Inlet to climb Florida’s tallest lighthouse, visit the Marine Science Center, and explore Lighthouse Point Park. Finish with fresh seafood and beautiful inlet views.
Local Tips
✅ Check current beach-driving zones, hours, tides, and fees before taking a vehicle onto the sand.
✅ Daytona is much more than racing. Make time for Ponce Inlet, the riverfront, local museums, and nearby Ormond Beach.
✅ Reserve Speedway tours and event tickets early during race weekends and Biketoberfest.
✅ Stay near the Boardwalk for walkability or farther south for a quieter beach atmosphere.
✅ Sunrise is one of the best times for beach photos and a peaceful walk before the day gets busy.
Best Time to Visit
March through May & September through November offer warm weather but check the event calendar because race and motorcycle events affect rates.
How Long to Stay
Three days gives you enough time for the beach, Speedway, Boardwalk, and Ponce Inlet. Add a day for more resort time or nearby Ormond Beach and New Smyrna Beach.
Walkability
The Boardwalk and Ocean Walk area are easy to explore on foot, but a car is helpful for traveling to the Speedway, Ponce Inlet, and attractions spread along the coast.
Family Friendly
Families will find beaches, arcades, Daytona Lagoon, Speedway tours, the Marine Science Center, mini golf, and plenty of casual restaurants that work for everyone.
Pet Friendly
Pet-friendly hotels and patios are available, and Lighthouse Point Park has a designated dog-friendly inlet beach. Oceanfront beach rules differ, so check before bringing a pet.
Parking
Beachfront lots, garages, metered spaces, and designated beach-driving access are available. Event weekends require extra time and advance planning.
Average Daily Budget
Plan on approximately $200–$450+ per day for a mid-range Daytona Beach vacation. Major events can push hotel prices much higher so always check the event calendar.
Weather
Expect hot, humid summers, mild winters, and periodic afternoon rain and storms. Atlantic conditions and rip-current risks can change, so check beach flags daily.
